Worship is central in the life of Oak Valley, and we extend an open invitation to you with the hope that you will find meaning, comfort, and hospitality while you are with us.
Our worship combines today’s contemporary gospel music and traditional hymns with the best elements of a traditional Baptist service. Led by our Pastor, the Reverend Derrick M. Hammond, you’ll find meaningful worship through the reading of scriptures, fellowship, music, prayer, and a relevant message.
Our lives are defined by our individual worship throughout the week and we celebrate that bond together when we worship as a community of believers each Sunday. The Pastor’s message seeks to connect the scriptures with everyday life, to recognize the grace God has granted, and how as Christians we can be a blessing to others.
The music you will experience in our services is varied, meaningful, and skillfully performed. It includes praise music led by our talented praise team, traditional hymns, and choir music.
Children participate in worship through the hearing of scriptures, singing with the Children’s Choir (2nd Sundays) and attending Children‘s Church (2nd and 3rd Sundays), where they are involved in an age-appropriate worship service. Childcare for younger children is also provided each Sunday.
Since we want everyone to feel comfortable at Oak Valley, you will see people dressed up and people in more casual clothing.
Location: Nursery and Fellowship Hall
2nd and 3rd Sunday of each month, 11:00 a.m.
Children’s Church is a safe, welcoming place where children learn about the love of God and the Word of God. Caring leaders share their love for Jesus and children, using bible stories, activities and games to introduce children to God’s wonder and His promises. Nurturing these young hearts, leaders help children learn that God loves them always.
